Yeehaw! Everything’s Bigger in Texas: CRA completes acquisition of WERS
October 28, 2025
Phoenix, AZ – Compactor Rentals of America, LLC (“CRA”), a portfolio company of Kinderhook Industries, LLC, announced today the acquisition of Waste Equipment Rentals and Sales (“WERS”). Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The WERS acquisition marks CRA’s fourth add-on since partnering with Kinderhook in January 2024 and reinforces the company’s commitment to expanding its national rental platform through strategic investments.
WERS is a family-owned and operated business based in College Station, Texas, specializing in compactor and baler sales and rentals, supported by a service and maintenance division. The company has established itself as a leading provider of compaction solutions to commercial, industrial, and multifamily customers across the College Station and Houston regions. The acquisition meaningfully strengthens CRA’s presence in one of the nation’s fastest-growing markets and adds valuable regional density that enhances fleet utilization and customer reach.
“We’re excited to welcome WERS to the CRA platform,” said Kelly Williams, Chief Executive Officer of CRA. “This acquisition deepens our presence in a key growth market and advances our mission of delivering clean, efficient, and sustainable waste solutions nationwide. WERS has built a trusted reputation for responsiveness and reliability that aligns seamlessly with CRA’s customer-first approach.”
Following the acquisition, CRA completed the sale of WERS’ compactor and baler service division to a dedicated service provider. This transition ensures customers continue to receive the same dependable support they have come to expect, with CRA focusing on rental equipment and new equipment sales across Texas, while the buyer of the service business manages all ongoing service and maintenance needs. The transaction preserves service continuity for customers and allows CRA to concentrate resources on expanding its core, high-margin rental platform.
Polsinelli served as legal counsel to Kinderhook and CRA on the acquisition of WERS. A Comerica Bank-led syndicate provided debt financing for the transaction.
