Powering Growth: Kinderhook Fuels Next Chapter for Advanced Digital Cable

September 22, 2025

New York, NY – Kinderhook Industries, LLC (“Kinderhook”) announced today the acquisition of Advanced Digital Cable Inc. (“ADC” or the “Company”). Headquartered in Hayesville, North Carolina, ADC is a manufacturer of wire and cable solutions, with a focus on low-voltage copper wire. ADC represents Kinderhook’s 8th wire and cable acquisition to date and its 4th platform investment in the firm’s $2.75 billion Fund 8, which was raised in 2024. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1997 by the Payne family, ADC has built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and service. The Company manufactures a broad portfolio of wire and cable products from its three U.S. facilities, supplying distributors across a diverse set of end markets, including data centers, smart-building automation, industrial automation, renewable energy, traffic infrastructure, irrigation systems, and utilities. Customers value ADC’s short lead times, product breadth, and family-led, service-first culture established by the Payne family.

“From our founding, ADC has been focused on delivering the highest-quality products and service to its customers,” said Steve Payne, Founder of ADC. “We are proud of what our team has built and are excited to partner with Kinderhook.”

To guide the next phase of growth, Kinderhook has recruited Kurt Breischaft – a seasoned wire-and-cable executive most recently serving as CEO of SDI La Farga Copperworks – as Chief Executive Officer. “ADC’s strong reputation and the powerful tailwinds behind electrification create a great platform for growth. We intend to invest in people, processes and technology so that ADC can continue to deliver exceptional products to its customers,” Breischaft said. Kinderhook has also added operating partners Peter Sheehan and Ed Flynn to serve on ADC’s Board of Directors.

“ADC has demonstrated consistent growth over nearly three decades, and we are thrilled to build on that momentum alongside Kurt and the management team,” said Paul Cifelli, Managing Director at Kinderhook.

Nate Druckenmiller, Principal at Kinderhook, added, “We look forward to supporting the Company’s expansion through enhanced product offerings, entry into new end markets, and strategic M&A.”

“The Payne family has built ADC into a trusted partner to its customers, with a culture that aligns well with Kinderhook’s investment approach. We are excited to carry that legacy forward and help accelerate the Company’s growth,” said Joe Mayer, Vice President at Kinderhook.

Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as legal counsel to Kinderhook. Financing for the transaction was provided by Eldridge, Twin Brook Capital Partners, and MUFG.
